Christmas Placemat

I put out our Christmas place mats today around our table with J.  He had fun placing them down and just being a helper.  We made our lunch and sat down at the table.  J promptly shoved his fabric place mat halfway across the table and asked for the place mat we made two months ago with Lightening McQueen.   I decided to help him make a Christmas place mat after nap time.

Christmas Place mat:
Christmas coloring sheet
Crayons or Colored Pencils
Green Construction Paper
Glue
Contact Paper or Laminator (one day I want to own one!)

I found a Manger Scene coloring sheet from Christian Preschool Printables.  I cut it out and let him color it.

J wanted baby Jesus to have green eyes like he does.

We glued it onto a piece of green construction paper.

I covered it with contact paper and trimmed it up.

A simple easy craft to make his place at the table more Christmasy!  The great thing about this place mat is that it wipes clean without ruining his artwork.  Plus, you can make them for any time of year!  We did tie the picture into our memory verse, Luke 2:11, by talking about how Jesus is our Savior.
If you are looking for more Christmas craft ideas, I will be posting over the next few weeks the activities that J, H, and I will do.  But until then, here are a few links also of different ideas.
