Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss!  Many of our favorite books were written by him and I love the rhymes and rhythms.  Here are a few of the books that our family enjoys.  If you have not read them before, even if you do not have children, take them time to sit down and read these fun books.

Green Eggs and Ham (I Can Read It All by Myself Beginner Books)Green Eggs and Ham  This book is a classic book and is actually the way that I've finally convinced Buddy to eat eggs.  He refused to eat eggs until Jon and I started dying them green and then he'll eat every bite.
Hop on Pop Hop on Pop  Buddy loves this book and can quote most of it.  "Stop! We do not hop on Pop!"  And, thanks to this book, he can now say "Constantinople and Timbuktu".  Sweetpea loves the rhythm to this story, and even if she won't sit still, she will listen while she crawls on the floor.

Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? (Bright and Early Books for Beginning Beginners)
Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?  Buddy and Sweetpea enjoy the animal sounds from this book and Buddy has it memorized.  I love watching him "read" it outloud to Sweetpea, especially when it is unprompted.

There are many many more books that we love by Dr. Seuss and lots of other classics like Cat in the Hat and Oh the Places You'll Go!I'm glad that he wrote all of these fun nonsensical books that are perfect in homes, in classrooms, and any place that you can read.
